West Ham United boss David Moyes has shared a positive update out of Rush Green on the club’s pursuit of Paris-Saint Germain defender Thilo Kehrer.
The Lowdown: Hammers eye move…
Reliable club insider ExWHUemployee first shared the ‘exciting’ link to Kehrer with the club since entering talks to sign him before September 1.
West Ham’s current defensive crisis has seemingly prompted Moyes and head of recruitment Rob Newman to take to the market in search of new options to provide strength in depth.
Nayed Aguerd and Angelo Ogbonna are currently nursing injury problems with concerns surrounding Kurt Zouma’s own injury history, not to mention Craig Dawson has just one year left on his current deal (ExWHUemployee).
The Latest: Moyes gives positive Kehrer update…
Speaking to the media, manager Moyes has now given a positive update on West Ham’s pursuit of Kehrer.

He explained (via BBC) that talks are ‘progressing’ to sign the Germany international, who is highly versatile and can play at both centre-half and left-back.
The Verdict: Good news…
Kehrer’s versatility isn’t the only appeal for West Ham as they seek to add more defensive cover.
The 25-year-old is still fairly young for a centre-half and would come in as a solid long term option, not to mention reliable sources like Sky Sports reporter Florian Plettenberg have claimed he is interested in joining Moyes.
It’s hardly a surprise he appears to be West Ham’s prime centre-back target and it will be interesting to see if the east Londoners can add him to their ranks.
