As Newcastle United’s loan move for Danny Rose has been confirmed, attention now turns to potential outgoings from St James’ Park.
It appears Steve Bruce is looking to free up space in his 25-man Premier League squad, meaning as many as five players could leave Tyneside by 11pm tonight.

This was revealed by Chris Waugh in The Athletic’s transfer Q&A on Thursday afternoon, where he said:
“In terms of out-goings, midfielder Ki Sung-yueng has been offered around, as has Christian Atsu, with Newcastle looking to free up space in their 25-man squad. Jetro Willems’ loan will be ended early, which allows for one space, but then additional room is needed (even if Paul Dummett is left out of the squad) for the three signings they’ve made. With Jack Colback injured, he is unlikely to head anywhere, but Newcastle are looking for suitors for Jamie Sterry, Rolando Aarons and Henri Saivet, all of whom were left out of their Premier League squad last summer.”

Two of Rafa Benitez’s signings, Ki Sung-yueng and Christian Atsu, appear most likely to depart the Magpies as they have been offered about to teams whilst the likes of Jamie Sterry, Rolando Aarons and Henri Saivet are nowhere near breaking into the senior fold after being left out of the squad in the summer.
Calling all transfer experts! How much did each of these Deadline Day signings cost?
Aarons has just returned from a loan at Wycombe, so he can only feature for one more club this season.
Meanwhile, the decision on Atsu is a surprise considering he has made 22 appearances under Steve Bruce.
And in other news, Newcastle are still on the hunt for reinforcements in the transfer market…
