Although he played 76 times for Glamorgan, he never made a hundred, with his best being an unbeaten 96 against Gloucestershire. Two months later he scored 90 against Hampshire, an innings many considered his best as he steered the county to a five-wicket win against a rampaging Andy Roberts. A week later he made another fifty in the return match.In all, Hill scored 2690 runs for Glamorgan at 24.45.As a wing-half, he played for Newport County between 1962 and 1973, with a brief spell at Swansea between 1970-71 and 1971-72.
