Day by Day follows the lives of four characters who escape Italy to evade mafia troubles. Set ten years later in the US, the story begins with Alice. The four main characters, now settled into their new lives, will encounter fresh challenges. Any decision made by each character will alter the storyline for the other three.
Alice, an Italian woman and teacher, sought refuge in the USA to escape her troubled past as a mother and widow entangled with mafia connections. Carlo, her new husband, rescued her from the mafia and relocated her, along with Samantha and James, to the US for safety. However, challenges persist, trailing them persistently. Samantha, James’s older sister, fled Italy with Alice and Carlo to flee her abusive father. After her mother, Arianna was hospitalized due to a severe beating, she entrusted Alice with her children. Amidst the turmoil of departure, Alice took them in. James, Sam’s younger brother, was merely a child when they fled Italy, sparing him memories of their previous life. Adjusting to their new life in the US proves difficult for James; he struggles to make friends and has never had a girlfriend.
