Liverpool player ratings vs Nottingham Forest: Darwin Nunez and Diogo Jota do the business to keep in-form Reds rolling

The Reds were untouchable for the most part with Nunez, Jota and Dominik Szoboszlai excelling before Mohamed Salah rounded out the scoring

Liverpool were completely dominant as they ran out 3-0 winners against a toothless Nottingham Forest on Sunday. Diogo Jota, Darwin Nunez and Mohamed Salah were on target to extend the home team's unbeaten run to five games.

Nunez was a constant danger throughout and helped spark the game into life with a shot that Matt Turner could only parry into Jota's path for the opening goal. The Uruguayan striker was then perfectly placed to get on the end of Dominik Szoboszlai's sharp, low cross and divert it in. Alongside Nunez, Hungarian midfielder Szoboszlai was excellent, carving out chances and keeping a high tempo to his team's attacks.

Jurgen Klopp's team gave Forest no chance of getting into the game. The hosts had a massive 75 percent possession and the visitors' only real threat came from an Anthony Elanga shot that hit the woodwork in the 86th minute. Forest eventually ended up creating danger for themselves, as Turner's bizarre blunder allowed an otherwise quiet Salah to fire into an open goal for his team's third goal.

Dominik Szoboszlai (8/10):

Caused havoc all game. Great on the ball as he pushed forward and created a lot of chances. Dug in to win the ball back a lot, too.

Alexis Mac Allister (6/10):

His fight in midfield won the ball back and started the attack for the opening goal, but he gave the ball away too much.

Ryan Gravenberch (5/10):

Much quieter than his fellow midfielders but was reliable when in possession. Taken off after 57 minutes.

Played a key role in the first two goals but offered no direct threat from the wing until Turner's unbelievable blunder gifted him Liverpool's third.

Darwin Nunez (8/10):

Forest defenders couldn't keep track of him and he was a constant danger. Deserved his goal in the first half.

Diogo Jota (7/10):

Pounced on the rebound to score the first goal. Covered a lot of ground and linked up expertly with Nunez before going off before the hour mark.

Harvey Elliott (6/10):

An immediate threat as Szoboszlai set him up, but his effort was blocked.

Cody Gakpo (5/10):

Tried to get through the Forest defence and midfield but couldn't match the tempo of some of his team-mates. Thought he made it 4-0 but was offside.

Wataru Endo (5/10):

A late introduction but did not have much to do.

Joe Gomez (N/A):

Came on for the last few minutes.
